Employment Opportunities

All employees of the Nutrition Research Institute (NRI) are employees of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Faculty Positions:

We are recruiting three research teams who will work together (as they would in a program-project) on Nutrition and Obesity/ Eating Disorders, Nutrition and Cancer, and Nutrition and Brain.  Each team will consist of a lead scientist and four other principal scientists and their associated research groups. Additionally, three faculty members with methods expertise in metabolomics, nutrient genomics and nutrient intake assessment are needed to serve as members of all three research teams.  All faculty appointments will be tenured or tenure track in one of the departments at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill .

We are currently searching for:

Four faculty members to be part of the Nutrition and Brain Development research team led by Steven Zeisel MD, PhD.  These individuals should have expertise in the area of nutrition and brain development/cognition research with an interest in applying nutrigenomic and metabolomic methods to identify individual differences in nutrient effects on development of brain and cognition. Two faculty members - one with methods expertise in Metabolomics and one with methods expertise in Nutrigenomics. These faculty members will be part of three program-project research teams working in the areas of Nutrition and Obesity, Nutrition and Cancer and Nutrition and Brain research groups. Staff Positions: 

Research Technician: The UNC Nutrition Research Institute seeks a research technician to work in the area of choline metabolism. This person must be able to harvest mouse tissue and section paraffin embedded samples. Knowledge of DNA isolation and PCR techniques is desirable. A B.A. or B.S. in Biology or related field is required. (Click Here to Apply)
