UNIVERSITY OF NORTH CAROLINA AT CHAPEL HILL

The Ideraabdullah lab is located at the Nutrition Research Institute (NRI) on the North Carolina Research Campus (NCRC) in Kannapolis, North Carolina. We are seeking an energetic and talented postdoctoral researcher to study mechanisms of epigenetic response to nutrient availability. This exciting project will utilize mouse models to answer questions about the role of nutrient availability in determining epigenetic states during development and potential heritability. Qualified applicants must have a PhD in nutrition, genetics, molecular biology or related field; strong communication, data analysis, analytical and quantitative skills; experience with mouse handling and wet lab research; and the ability to work independently or collaboratively. Applicants with experience with molecular epigenetic assays, nutrient/metabolite detection assays and/or computational genetic analysis tools are preferred. Salary will be determined based on experience.

As part of the NRI, the successful postdoctoral researcher will have access to numerous resources available through the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Medicine and through the Departments of Genetics and Nutrition. Furthermore, the NCRC state of the art research facilities allow for collaborations with faculty from schools across North Carolina studying a range of topics from plant genetics, epigenetics and gene expression regulation to human cognition and brain development.
