Postdoctoral Research Associate in Nutrigenetics-Smith Lab

This position is located in Kannapolis, NC (near Charlotte, approximately 2 hours from the UNC-Chapel Hill main campus).

A postdoctoral position in nutritional biochemistry is available with a highly successful team to investigate Nutrigenomics at the Nutrition Research Institute, UNC Chapel Hill. This complex study isolates genetic polymorphisms that govern nutrient requirements in a novel mouse model that replicates human genetic diversity. Complementary studies use these mice to identify gene-nutrient interactions that modulate outcomes in alcohol-related disease. Our computational biology approach integrates genetics with metabolomics, transcriptomics, and disease endpoints. Expertise valued in this work includes rodent handling, computer programming, molecular biology, team-orientation, record-keeping, and strong communications.
